Smartlist question and remote libary startup idea
« on: February 13, 2008, 11:23:00 am »

It's been a while since I've created a new smartlist, but I am trying to create a smartlist to include some specific Genres and also group of Artist.  None of the Artist fall with in the Genres so my list ends up empty. What would be the proper way to include both rules, without excluding the other? Does that make sense?

Second little picky part, at work my default library is actually a connection to my library server at home. It would be nice when MC starts, the logo doesn't get stuck on the screen while waiting for the login authorization and while it's doing it's thing to get connected to the server. Makes it hard to work on other tasks while your waiting, and looks bad when the boss comes by wanting to look at something on your computer  :-\  TIA.

for your smartlist you need to add an 'OR' rule and wrap it in parenthesis..

([artist]= or [genre]=)

The wizard lays them out like so:

Thank you marko and joshhuggins.
I guess this is in the help file, somewhere?
I couldn't find it under "Smartlist" or "Too stupid to make smartlist for for me" ;)
