It so happens that ';' is an important character in MC since it is used to define lists. At least in XP, ';' seems to be valid filename character. I want to be able to rename files and import them later if necessary (i.e. since data can't be stored in PDF tags), but I suspect that there may be more mainstream reasons.

Example:

I rename PDFs as:

[Authors] - [Name] where Authors is a user defined list field.
