Okay, I do not like having an Antec Sonata case sitting next to my TV.  I want to put the guts of that machine into a HTPC case that I can stuff in a regulation DVD player space.  (Well, a little taller since my video card is pretty big.  I've a pretty standard sized ATX board, too.)

Any recommendations?  The only front indicator I need is power.

Quiet is better.  Cheap is better yet.

There are a lot of similar cases available. A google search for HTPC case reviews will keep you busy for a while.

Personally I would not try to hide a new HTPC. I would proudly put it in a case like one of these:

There are a couple of sub $100 cases at newegg I think I'll look more closely at.  Seems to be a lot more choices than the last time I looked.

I just use a Shuttle (SG33G5) with its inbuilt graphics card and a Q6600 CPU.  Quite, small, and good quality video / audio output over HDMI.

Mac Mini, Mac Mini, Mac Mini...

You can wipe off OSX completely if you wish to do so.  A fresh WinXP SP2 install from CD is easy.
Before you do that, make sure that you download, expand and save to CDu or USB disk the Bootcamp drivers.
Alternatively, acutally install Bootcamp, select the smallest partition for OSX and keep the WinXP sector as the default boot partition.

Remember no space for cards, so your TV tuner will have to be USB.

Maybe sell the parts and buy the Mini
