Where are playlist files stored?
« on: April 08, 2008, 01:26:41 pm »

I must be blind...I can't find any of the physical playlists files. I've search my PC and it comes back with no results. In Windows Media Player all the playlists are in My Music/My Playlists....is there not some option like this for Media Center?

This is important to me as I want the central media center (drives the distributed audio) to monitor a folder for playlists that are created from other locations. I know I can "Export" a playlist but I would hope we could simply tell Media Center where to Save Playlists when created by default.

Anyone?

Playlists are stored in the database. There is no physical playlist file that you can open from another computer unless you export it.

I believe after you hit manually export playlist files it puts it in your application data folder under your user name. Usually this folder is hidden i belive the file path should be something like..

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Media Center 12\playlists\

Not on my computer with media center at the moment but that should be close enough to help you hunt em down.
