Setup - when updating...
« on: June 29, 2008, 12:22:59 am »

Hello,

Three small suggestions..

1) When launching an outdated v.12, MC found a newer version and prompted me to update.
It downloaded version 12.0.497 and after accepting the license stuff I could select for an 'Express'
or 'Custom'-install.
At this point I became uncertain as to whether either one would save/include/take over
the previous settings.
I think the setup window may include a remark that previous settings will be saved,
or even better add an option to 'save previous settings' (default)  or override them.

2) When updating, MC downloaded version 497 though a newer version (.518) wás available.
Q: why did MC not download thát one?

3) Feel that the some settings-windowpanels should either be bigger or -even better- resizable.

Good point.  When you upgrade, you might as well pick Express.  It will keep all your same settings.

New versions get tested here first.

You mean the main options dialog (Tools > Options)?

Thanks.

(1) Okay, yes I used express and crossed my fingers  ;)
(2) Noted, thought when it was released here, it was 'public' so to say.
(3) Yes, that one. There are some parts there, when expanding the options 1 level, the window gets a bit too small,
so one needs to scroll up and down or close options. Click here, click there, scroll. It is minor point, I do agree, but
I just think it is a bit handier to have a larger window to get a better overview of all settings.
That is of course..., if it is not too difficult to implement.

I agree about the Options dialog.  We'll change it, but it might be a while before we get to it.

Thanks.
