New to MJ, quick question
« on: September 21, 2008, 11:26:04 am »

Hello, MJ seems like the answer to my MusicMatch dinosaur. Is it possible to collapse a column like in MM? For instance to collapse the artist column so it doesn't take so long to scroll down to find what you're looking for? I may have missed it somewhere if the option is there. Thanks in advance, Scott

You can't collapse columns, no, but you can add a pane that groups artists alphabetically. 'Panes' are how we refer to the filter categories in the upper part of the main window, and we use 'Columns' to refer to the file information displayed in the lower part of the main window, aka. 'the file list'...

To add the pane, click on the 'Artist' pane header and choose 'Add pane to left'
In the dialogue that shows, choose 'Artist' (or 'Album Artist (auto)' if you prefer) from the drop down, and then set your grouping options at the bottom. Click OK when done.
When you navigate away from this view, MC will ask you if you want to keep the changes you made... if you're happy, click 'Yes'.
Will that do for you?
