Hi All

Am running Vista Ultimate on a Toshiba P200 Satelite Laptop.

Downloaded the Media Jukebox freebie and paid for and downloaded the MP3 encoder.

After the install sound no longer comes out through the speakers. Fine through head phones though...

Also have lost sound to speakers in all my oher Vista Apps as well.

Vista diagnosis says the speakers are there, but sound only comes through when the headphones are in.

Any ideas? Help gratefully accepted!

Try switching Playback from Direct Sound to Wave Out (or vice versa).  Tools/Options/Playback.

Had to play with the combinations but number 3 seemed to work after changing then restarting Media Jukebox

Also now working back again with Windows Media Player and Windows Media Centre

Sounds like you don't have the speaker output set as the default audio device in the vista control panel.

Problem didn't appear to be with Vista settings as sound had been working ok and Vista settings were not changed.
Although accept that Vista and other software that run on vista may sometimes not clear and reset different internal switches properley causing these intermittent types of errors.

For me only differentiator was with settings on Media JukeBox.
Advice from JimH cleared the problem.
