Media Center 13 & DVD RW Backup
« on: November 05, 2008, 12:09:28 am »

I intend to back up mp3's to dvd rw disk, the two questions i have are;

When i back up the files once every couple of months, will the apdated play statistics be backed up as well. instead of ignoring the mp3's already backed up on the disk.

And what are the best disks to use. DVD+RW or DVD-RW?

I need this question answered before i buy 50 to 75 of these disks, which are quite expensive.

Thanks

By default, play stats are included in the library, not the file tags.  This is to prevent unnecessary tagging from simple playback.  You can change this in Options, or simply include a library backup with your backups.

Also, you might consider an extra hard drive for backup.  They're fast and the storage is cheap.

The stats are in fact stored in the tages, because i had to save my mp3 files several times and the updated play stats are there. Also, the "lock.jmd" file that appears on the desktop when i start and close media center remains even after i restart. Is this normal or just a bug?

Thanks

The lock.jmd thing was a bug that was fixed a few builds ago.
Update to the latest version posted at the top of the forum.
