Author Topic: Synchronize database on two computers--but without scheduled recordings  (Read 1361 times)

I synchronize my database and thumbnails between my laptop and HTPC.
I've set my laptop to record a daily radio stream.j
I don't want that scheduled recording information to get synchronized to my HTPC (obviously I want the recording to be done on one computer only, not both at the same time to the same filename).
In which jmd file does the scheduler information appear, so that I may exclude that file from synchronizing?

In my experience, this type of question does not go over very well.  I think the database is highly optimized and pieces are stored all over the place.  I've asked the same thing about various items before.

I did a test, and after synchronizing, the scheduler info was not on my HTPC, which means that scheduled recording info is not part of the database. At least that's what I (happily) conclude.

That's another thing.  A lot of the MC data is stored in the registry.  :(  I am several others continually beg to have all data stored in the library database.  Look at how Firefox stores its browser profile.  Literally 99% of everything is in there.  You can open it on one computer and go to the next and have EVERYTHING.  The only things that aren't there, it seems, are things that actually install to the computer too, such as Java.  But it basically includes everything.  It's so nice, too.  For example: file locations (where to save audio rips) could be stored in the library database instead of the registry.  Right now, I have to create a special .reg file that will fix the settings and this works, but if I make a change later, I would have to go to every computer once more instead of just changing my MC through the library DB and being done!

Scheduler is a user (not library) setting.

Television recordings and subscriptions are a library setting.
