Try this. They didn't say they wouldn't ship to Europe. Maybe they will.

chicoSelfs:

Found the product at ETronics (http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=pyr705cd&SVBName=215). $49.75 US. They ship to Canada, couldn't find a reference to shipping to Europe.

Good luck....HTH

ChicoSelfs - if you can't get this shipped to Portugal you could ship it to me in the US and I'll mail it to you. We could work out something on the cost of postage. Let me know.

Ps: Thanks Gatobrit for your support

ChicoSelfs - good news. I found their web site. http://www.pyramidcaraudio.com/

Looks like you can email their sales department and then they will give you a distributor in Europe or someone in the US who will ship there.

Good luck!

Well, it comes from a story about a dumb ignorant English person moving to the US some years ago and living in a town called Los Gatos in the San Francisco Bay Area. Los Gatos is a nice town and it is called that name because when the Spanish arrived hundreds of years ago there were a bunch of cats living there. Or at least that's how the story goes.

The people who live in and around the town call the place "The Cats".

Anyway, when I needed an online nickname I put Gato and Brit together to create Gatobrit - only then did I discover than gato = cat. At which point it had become a habit. So there you go.

I want to know where KingSparta and Charlemagne8 (what about the previous 7??) come from personally. :-)

How about "ChicoSelfs"? What's the story?

Well my nick is very easy to explain : The name Chico and Francisco is the same here in portugal here when a person is Francisco ( Real name) is Chico and everybody calls him Chico. Selfs is a little bit difficult to explain i am a electricitian ( i think that i wrotte wrong ) Selfs is a term in eletricity to Faisca and that's my last name.
So Francisco Faísca = ChicoSelfs

Massive fan of anything Deep Purple. Machine Head is by far the best DP album made. If you want to argue let me know. I'm always ready to stand my ground when it comes to this one.

ChicoSelfs - OK. I talked to my company's shipping / receiving guy and once I described what I wanted to do he thought $70 was a steal. A business shipping this to you would have to prepare a commercial invoice etc. etc. and you would probably have to pay duty on your end to get it from customs.

Anyway, we looked up the import restructions to Portugal. If I sent the thing to you marked as a gift with the value below $30 (33 Euros) - person to person, i.e. not from a company here - we avoid import restrictions / duty etc. in Portugal. Cool.

I called the US Postal Service and they quoted $42.25 for air mail (5/7 days) or $32 (2/4 weeks).

If anybody still wants to know about my nickname, it's a relatively boring story. Really it's very boring. Even underwhelming.

No real meaning. Just circumstances.
I am a surveyor and consequently drive to many places around a 100 mile radius of my office. While working in Clarksville, TN (home of the 101st Airborne), I passed a road intersection daily. It was the intersection of Charlemagne and Lafayette. I sez to myself "What a great screen name". I filed it away for future reference as I was not connected at that time.
When I finally got a decent computer, I signed up for Juno. When asked for an E mail name, I tried my real name (being incredibly ignorant) and there were 7 more of me already there so I took what they suggested, which was #8. Juno is long past me but I have always had an "8" after whatever screen or Email name I used. I'm old. I like patterns (some call it "routine", others call it "a rut").
Exciting, huh?

Charlemagne.

(French for Carolus Magnus, or Carlus Magnus ("Charles the Great"); German Karl der Grosse).

The name given by later generations to Charles, King of the Franks, first sovereign of the Christian Empire of the West; born 2 April, 742; died 28 January, 814.
