Come on - please give a newbie a response

(Windows ME, Soundblaster Live)
I have just upgraded from a trial copy of MJ7 to a trial copy of MJ8. I now find that when I try to play a collection of short .wav files (movie soundbytes etc) that many (but not all) of the clips are cut off before reaching the end. For example all I get is "Good Morning V" instead of "Good Morning Vietnam!". All these files played without any problems on MJ7 and also play on windows Media Player 7 without problems.

Can anyone help, I have tried tweaking the options settings without success. I don't understand why MJ8 should appear to be less capable than MJ7 in this respect.

Do you want my $'s ?

Jon,
Please use a subject that describes the problem.  "Short wav file playback", for example.

Check how you have your playback set -- whether you have crossfading on, for example.

Also send a file to me jimh @ jriver.com.

Thanks.
