Added Nomad II plugin. Am using the latest Nomad firmware revision.  When I click on the icon the following messages appear: Co Create Error; 80040154; Initialization failed. Please check that Nomad is connected and on.
Unit worked with MJ 7.2.  What's up?

Kurt and Jonathan,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I was out yesterday.  Have you installed version 3.0.11 of the MJ Plug-in?  Have you installed the stand alone drivers for Nomad II from Creative's website?  What Operating System are you using?

Thanks,

Steve

I am using version MJ plugin vesion 3.0.11, Win 98, and have the latest firmware for my Nomad II (which sux, don't upgrade the firmware!)  The only things I changed from when it was working until now are the MJ version (7.2 to 8) and the plugin version (since the other one is deleted upon upgrading).  Don't make me go back to 7.2, people.  The reason I upgraded is because when I'd select a song for playback suddenly the entire list for the artist would appear under playback and the first song would start which wasn't what I selected!  There's definitly some bugs to work out. The latest bug I've found is that if I'm in the CD, DVD, Handhelds menu and right click on the Nomad II icon, MJ crashes everytime.  Any ideas?

Kurt,

It is important that you download the "Stand alone driver" update from Creative's site at:

http://www.nomadworld.com/downloads/drivers/welcome.asp?reg=3&OS=%23Win98%23&prod=%23nomad2%23&Select=Get|PLS|Files&x=70&y=9

The file name is nomad2drivers.exe.  If you have already done this, let me know and we can work more on a solution. Our v8 Plug-in is built based on this driver (unlike v 7) and without it, nothing will work.

Steve,

yeah those new drivers did the trick .  The interface is a little different than it was but I like the fact that I can type this message and not have the download window in my face every time a new track starts to download.  Thanks for the help!

Kurt,

Glad it worked out. Most of the interface changes were in response to customer requests. If after you use it a little there are still things that seem akward, please let me know. There may already be a solution or we can try to incorporate your ideas in future builds.  I can't guarantee anything will change because one person's favorite feature can be an annoyance to another user, but it helps to have the feedback to try to satisfy most users most of the time.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve
Thanks for the suggestions.   I use windows2000 professional w/ the nomad IIc. I was using version 3.0.11 of the MJ Plug-in.

As soon I loaded nomad2drivers.exe (as you suggested) -- the problem went away.  The transfer works fine now.

Thanks so much,
Jonathan

Jonathan,

Thanks for letting me know it all worked out. These things haunt me until I know they are resolved.
