thomaspf: VST plugin uninstall
« on: October 01, 2009, 06:59:36 pm »

I love the native support and the reorder by dragging. However I encountered a few issues.

1. In  14.0.071 I cannot uninstall the Voxengo VST or for that matter any other plugin. I tried it while playing, stopped, and even unistalled the filters but no luck. They still show up in the DSP manager and the plugin manager under DSP. When I remove them in the plugin manager it return okay but nothing changes. This looks like an oversight and simple to fix

I am also strugling with the Voxengo plugin which only sees one inout channel but that seems to be a Voxengo problem.

I'd appreciate if someone could have a look and fix the uninstall issue for the next release.

Cheers

I'm having troubles reproducing this.

I install a VST plug-in in DSP Studio.  It shows up right away and can be used.

Then I close DSP Studio, open Plug-in Manager, pick the VST plug-in, and click 'Uninstall' on the bottom left.

When I open DSP Studio again, the VST plug-in is gone.

(p.s. there should probably also be an uninstall command in DSP Studio)

Coming in build 14.0.80 and later:
NEW: Added the ability to uninstall a DSP plug-in to the 'Add plug-in' menu in DSP Studio.
Fixed: Stock DSP plug-ins could be uninstalled, possibly causing problems.

From the build 81 thread:
Quote
I read the list of fixes and tried out the DSP uninstall. Unfortunately it is still not working for me. The new UI to uninstall directly from the Add-Plugin .. button in DSP studio is pretty cool but I still can't actually remove any VST plugins.

It seems to work okay but nothing is actually removed. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this. I assume when you looked at this it worked for you?

Cheers

I think it's a UAC thing.

We're going to have to prompt for elevation to uninstall a plugin.

Look for this in a coming build.
