MC14 Upsampling
« on: December 29, 2009, 11:26:35 am »

I appreciate many of the audiophile enhancements in MC recently, and I have been comparing my favorite player (MC14) with some others. I upsample to 24/96, mainly because my 1616M doesn't auto-format change and locks the sample rate, and I have quite a bit of native 24/96 material

Anyway, I was wondering what type/method of upsampling J. river employs in MC14:

Linear Interpolate (SSRC)
Anti-Imaging?

As compared to what XXHighend calls Arc Prediction which they claim uses no filtering, but wave prediction with harmonic distortion as low as with filtering. No high roll off above 19.7kHz and no ringing.

Thanks Matt, I found that after I posted. I was trying out XXHighend's proprietary Arc Upsampling and I couldn't tell any difference from MC14.
