Multiple Genre Question
« on: March 22, 2010, 01:51:40 pm »

I want to ask to the community, how are you tagging your songs that have multiple genre? can it be done natively ? or you need a custom field?

I think the specification says that you can put multiple genres in the genre field by space them with ";" but seems not to work on jrmc

What I want is, for example the song Flashdance (What A Feeling) i want to have all this genres: Oldies, Pop, Disco, English, etc, so when I search it in theater view could fit on all those genres

Any feedback ?  :)

The default filed does not allow you to do this, you'll have to create a custom field. I suggest you name it Genres and make it a semi-colon delimited field. This will allow you to separate your genres with ";". Use the Copy/Move command to move the old genre to the new genres field. Remember to go through the theater view options and change all genre field to the new genres field.

i to use a field called genres. but it works with genre to. when you put a ; in between, just make an expression in Theater View like
Code: [Select]
[genre]&datatype=[list] and it will behave like you want. when you want to do it with a calculated field and it does not work, search the forum or just say so..
