Trouble playing M4A file with embedded graphics
« on: April 20, 2010, 07:19:17 pm »

I am trying to play a podcast, an .M4A file with embedded graphics. (File is here: http://www.villamil.org/music/Jubilee.m4a)

On Windows Media Player 11 it plays fine, cover art for the current song fills the video window.

On MC15, when I try to play it, the following happens:

1) I get the message that components are being downloaded
2) I get the message that ffdshowinstaller is being installed
3) MC15 quits
4) The system goes through an orderly reboot

Tried it three times, same thing happened.

Well, setting M4A playback to use the Quicktime engine worked fine, you can see the embedded graphics.

Setting it to use JRiver Audio Engine (via Directshow) also worked for audio, but no embedded graphics.

Automatic mode is the one that would crash and burn.
