I WANT THE OLD SKIN BACK!!!

I've just installed a version of version 8, and there is a new skin! When I look in the skin manager to get the old one back, it's not there! Including in the others on the website! I WANT THE OLD SKIN BACK! I am very used to it, it is clear rather than fancy. I don't care about fanciness, I just want CLARITY!!!

What skin are you talking about? Was it ExtraBlue ?

Try turning the Skinning off.
Settings/Skin Manager - Mega-me - Disable Skins

OK I've tried that, I tried it before actually, but the resultant look is still different from the previous one (version 7 and backwards). For instance, the controls in the bottom left corner to do with volume and place on a track, now have a totally different appearance. Did this have to change? Can the old one be brought back?
