Library Server - some quirks
« on: June 07, 2010, 02:30:53 am »

Hello,
I don't have much experience with LS, just started playing not long ago. Here's what I noticed:

-- Drag 'n Drop doesn't work from MC connected to a LS. I mean drag/drop from MC to some Windows folder. The reason - the file name gets transmitted in some strange way. For instance:
Z:\MP3\Bigelf\2003 - Hex\01 - Madhatter.mp3  becomes
Z^3A^5CMP3^5CBigelf^5C2003^20-^20Hex^5C01^20-^20Madhatter

-- media filenames and paths are shown correctly in MC (i.e. Z:\MP3\Bigelf\2003 - Hex\01 - Madhatter.mp3). However, cover art links/paths are shown as http://[serveripaddress:port]/GetArt?Key=[somenumber]. In my case, covers are stored on the same Z: drive.

The second item is not a big deal but the first one should be fixed I think.
Thanks!

There are a lot of Library Servers "features", Jmone has a thread going somewhere with a lot of them listed.

We're all hoping they get fixed/resolved at some point in the not too distant future, but it seems development on Library Server has stopped at the moment in favor of other things.

Thanks! I forgot about the new Network sub-forum. Should've posted/looked there...
