I have a library that has custom tags in my V12 JRM, and I want to import that into V15.

I tried saving to XML,  but see now way to bring the XML library into V15.

I tried doing a backup of the library, and restore, but the restore fails.

How can i accomplish this?

If I need to create the custom tag first, I can do that. In fact I was going to try that, but can't figure out how. Its been a while since I did it in V12. I tried looking in the help, but when I search for the word TAG, it finds nothing 

Any help appreciated.

This is supposed to work. How exactly did you do it and what happened? Did MC15 show an error message?

Stepping through an attempt again now, after having done a backup from V12, and document what happens:

From JRM 12
Select from menu: Flie/Library/Backup Library
Select Location/Name
Click Save
Message: Backup Successful
From JRM15 (downloaded last night)
Select from menu: File/Library/Restore Library
Browse to backup file
Leave restore library and playlists selected
Click on OK
Message "Restoring Library"
Message "restore unsuccessful"
Backup file gets moved to new location

Surprise! This was the 4th attempt....it worked!

Not sure what to think. This was done immediately after a fresh install of V15. Maybe something needed to 'settle in'

I am just guessing, but maybe your virus scanner decompresses and checks the backup file before it allows MC to open it. It is a rather big compressed package and perhaps MC cannot always access the file in the required time.
