TV tuner and multiple monitors
« on: June 19, 2002, 12:27:20 am »

Are there any known issues with running a TV tuner and having multiple monitors installed?

As soon as I install my second video card and attempt to use the TV tuner feature, I get "Failed to play TV. (unknown error)"

It worked fine until I installed a second monitor and video card.

My system specs:
WinXP Pro
ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon
Sis (something or other - I can look it up if useful)

Thanks in advance for your time and response.

I am not aware of any issues specifically related to TV, although I admit not having tested TV with the kind of configuration you are trying. I had worse luck than you when I tried to use a second video card in addition to my ALL-In-Wonder card. It did not work. I have not tried again since. Matt may have some say in this.

With regard to TV, please try deleting the TV Settings registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Music Exchange\1.0\Media Jukebox\TV Settings

and start TV again.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem.

We'll dig around and try to see what's happening...

Thanks.

rymiwe,

Matt and I have been able to make a big step forward with his system. Although he still has problem playing TV, I thought maybe you could also try it out and see whether you can go further than Matt.

Please download version 8.0.300 (see thread with title "Media Jukebox 8.0.300 available").

You probably will get this message: "The program can not find a video capture device on your system".

What we found out on Matt's system is that his video card with TV tuner was not the PRIMARY video card. After making his All-In-Wonder card the Primary card, he could go further.

So, the video card with tuner device must be the primary video card. See this page for how to switch primary and secondary cards:
http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/2992.html

Please let us know if this solves your problem.

Thanks.
