Import videos - not working
« on: October 04, 2010, 02:27:47 pm »

Hi all, wodered if someone could help me.

I am running J River Media Centre 15 and absolutely love it.  However, this last week I have been unable to add in any more films.  I have copied the film to my hard drive and played it and it works fine.  However, when I load it into JR it says '0 minutes' and the film won't play.

I've tried to update the program to 15.0.095 but the download keeps failing.

It's standard DVD format wth the two folder, audio & video_ts, same as all the other films running in JR.  I've never had a problem with JR before and this one is truly baffling me.

If anyone could help or make any suggestions I would be very grateful, as JR is useless to me unlessI can load films in!

Thanks :-)

Okay, I've manually updated to 15.0.95 - no change, still can't import this film.  It's as if the program can't recognise the file type.

Check that MC hasn't change your movie's main .ifo filetype to .dvd
I think something like this has happened to me in the past.

Yes it has, it's taken me 1 and a half hours to figure it out but that's what it's doing.  How did you fix it?

I found a really good post on the forum (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=57574.0) which kinda explained the problems I'd been having.  I re-imported the file from a new source in case the file had been corrupted and it imported and played fine.  I have also updated to version 15.0.155.

Hopefully that's the last I see of that problem, because I'm still not sure what I did to fix it apart from try a new location!
