Zone - Now Playing Display
« on: February 16, 2011, 09:01:55 pm »

I don't know if this is possible, but I can't seem to figure out how to show TRACK INFO in a remote playing zone (on a Logitech Squeezebox 2 via Squeezebox Server via Whitebear).

I can see cover art, and when I right-click in the display area, there are not a lot of options there.  Are we not able to use TRACK INFO on any other zones than the main zone (playing here locally)?

Thx!

How are you controlling your SBs?

a) streaming files from JRMCs library to SBs via DLNA zones,

or

b) using an alternate MC library whose meta-data is imported into MC and content served entirely via Whitebear/SC

I am using MC to play via DLNA zone (MC -> Whitebear -> Squeezebox Server -> Squeezebox2).

Thx!

Perhaps this will help...

When you are managing files with MC and have a local Library in use, you can Send files to your SBs.  These will be streamed files, w/out meta-data.  You'll see only something such as http://.../something.* (where * might be mp3, flac, etc. depending upon transcoding options).

When you instead Library Manager->Connect to Library...->DLNA Media Server and select the SB's library (by Whitebear), MC creates a new DLNA Library.  It takes a while to import the meta-data.  Once done, you can now play audio files and the meta data will appear.

Note that MC allows you to be working with only one Library at a time, so you'll have to chose at any given time how you want to send your music to your SBs.  Just switch which Library you are using to see which one suits your needs.

The display on the Squeezebox2 is fine; I am trying to get the TRACKINFO to be viewable in JRMC15.  The first picture shows the M R (Whitebear) zone playing, but without the ability to show the TRACKINFO.  2nd pic shows the main local zone playing WITH the ability to select TRACKINFO.

I just want to be able to show TRACKINFO when I am observing a remote (DLNA) zone.

Any help?
