I am presently experiencing some rather peculiar problems with the playback of AVI files on my system. Namely, it appears as though enabling the 'JRiver Bitrate Monitor Filter' in the Video Playback options results in the absence of any visual screen content when AVI files are played back. It is not until this option is deactivated, that I am able to actually "watch" the film (as opposed to merely hearing its audio signal).

When the 'JRiver Bitrate Monitor Filter' is disabled, however, the display of subtitles appears to be impossible - in spite of the proper .srt file being selected and the Subtitles option within the 'ffdshow Video Decoder' or 'ffdshow Subtitles Filter' being enabled.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Both the AVI and SRT files had previously worked perfectly well.  

I am running W7 Home Premium x64.
