FLAC library to Id + receiver
« on: July 06, 2011, 09:10:05 am »

Advice on this situation would be helpful.

My library is in FLAC.  I stream FLAC directly to a receiver and this works great.  Excellent sound quality.

Just bought an Id expecting to set MC.  Easy set up.  Know I need to convert FLAC to use Id, but when I try streaming to it I get no sound.  MC appears to be sending each song for about 15 sec and then moves onto the next one.

I believe the kind of data that's sent to each device is set under the Audio Conversion settings in Options.  Correct?  Can this be set per device or must it be globally?  I tried setting this to Always Convert and Uncompressed but same behavior.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Steve

Make sure you are setting the conversion option under Options->Media Network->Add or Configure DLNA servers->choose the server->Audio
Convert Always
Uncompressed L16 no header
Advanced
Volume leveling
Sample rate 44.1k

Finally, the ID server has to be the first server in your list. If you are pulling audio from the receiver, create a second server that doesn't do conversion and name it differently. If you are pushing to both, you won't be able to use flac the way things currently work.

It's under Media Network options.
