I Was Wondering If Someone Would Look

I Have Been Watching So Much Australian TV The Lady At Food Lion Asked Me If I Was From Australia.

Me And Sue Have Been Repeating Their Phrases During The TV Shows.

They Do Use The Phrase "I Recon" Not Sure If We Got That From Them Or They From us.

I thought it was a British thing, but if not I'd say we got it from you guys. Another one of those cultural gems you've given the world - Like McDonald's and Starbucks :-)

FYI I'm one of "them"  ;D

It is interesting to see some of the different things that Aussies eat that is not the norm for the US

I do remember eating Rabbit when I was a kid, it was more from we had no money and dad would go out and shoot dinner. I also ate squirrels, porcupine, frog legs etc...

I am not sure I would ever eat any of them again.

Squid I Used When I Was A Kid For Bait To Catch Fish And Crabs, It does not appeal to me to eat bait, Nor does octopus, snails, snakes.

my dad said rattle snake tastes like chicken, I watched him fry it up once.

I am more of A Fish (white fish), Beef Chicken\Turkey, Pork, Crabs, Lobster, Clams (cooked), scallops (cooked).

Duck Was OK I had it like 5 times.

the only thing I like to eat out of the norm here in the us would be blow fish, and I have not had any for a long time.

When I get Done With Season 2 And 3 Of Masterchef Australia I Plan On Watching Master Chef New Zealand.

I Really like watching Masterchef Australia They seem to be better sports, I did see Matt get evicted because he had a cell phone not that he was one of my favorite players but i wish he would have followed the rules.

I like to watch, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris

Gary Mehigan and Gordon Ramsay Inspired me to make "Crepe Suzette"

http://www.masterchef.com.au/crepe-suzette.htm (You will need a Australian proxy to watch)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh0yCRorgkM

I can't believe how good "Crepe Suzette" is.

Matt Preston is the serious guy out of the bunch, but he has his moments.

...Another one of those cultural gems you've given the world - Like McDonald's and Starbucks :-)

... and for some odd reason, the rest of the world keeps running to them in droves.

But where are those fine Australian cultural exports, influencing the world?  We're still stuck with Foster's and Dundee.  ;D

A good fun book re: Australia was Bill Bryson's In a Sunburned Country.  He's a good-natured, quick-witted, self-deprecating curmudgeon of a guy who seemed to very much enjoy the world's largest island and its people.

Hey, hey...

Let's not forget "I come from the land downunder" by Men at Work ;D

Nicole Kidman, Simon Baker and plenty of other "Stars" (Please keep them  ;))

As for self deprecating - you'll find that's most of us. We're pretty loathe to take ourselves too seriously :-)
