...to allow a local machine to open the library with full R/W access, always?

Since it seems there isn't a way currently, can this be added?

I want to keep the server running on the HTPC connected to the A/V receiver (so I can use Gizmo whenever I wish), but I need to do tagging on another machine most of the time.

if I close MC on the local machine (laptop), it seems the server 'updates itself' to full R/W access, and I have to close it before opening the laptop MC to get full access back there.  Not convenient

Library server doesn't allow full (enough) access, so that doesn't work for me.  Using a "shared" library seems to be the only way i can get full access with the laptop.
