When playing in the tree menu I am repeatedly (not perfectly repeatable but say >70% of the time getting "ERROR Failed to find and CD-R/W devices in your system" ....

This is true I have no CD-R in this machine only a DVD-R... Anyway to disable the check (or shall I just open it up and put a spare CD-R in there ??

Also should mention I can bring the RC to a non funtional state (hanging Alt F4 gives program is not responding and can close it XP survives OK) pretty easily if I am playing and starting ripping and so press the RIP CD button... Tends to hang while contacting CDDB (the little square does not appear top right) but this is only when playing whist ripping (and screwing around with album view as well) and not while during 'normal operation'...

Should mention very stable non OC'ed P2.2 with 512 RAM...

Yup....me too. No CDR and and the same buggy message ("ERROR Failed to find and CD-R/W devices in your system"). It really does annoy when you're ripping in batches.

Well it will make the program unusable in my HTPC (where I am testing it to go) as it has no keyboard in use and I try to never use the mouse...

Its all an automated Girder / Pronto machine.. In my Dev box I can put a CDR but my HTPC is a custom CNC'ed black case (looks like HiFi) with one black DVD drive and no recordable drives !!
