Recovering Playlists
« on: May 24, 2002, 06:14:28 pm »

I have re installed Win98 on my PC (had to) however was able to copy the MJ8 prog directory to another drive before it got trashed.

Having re installed the latest MJ8 beta, is there any way I can recover the play lists from the old prog directory.  I hope these are sepearte files that I can copy or import.

I think the file is playlists.jmd and it's in the program files/j. river/mediajukebox/data folder.  You can try copying it to your new folder.  No guarantees.

Under the file menu there is a library entry which has a library manager subentry. From the library manager you can backup your library. Would this backup all the playlists too? The config settings seem to be stored in the registry. A backup settings feature would be nice. Better might be allowing optional storage of the config data with the library data, as well as an optional config only restore and the option of restoring the config data in conjuncution with a library store.
