Media Jukebox's TV Country PullDown is Blank
« on: May 24, 2002, 05:28:04 am »

After scanning for TV channels, Media Jukebox TV appears with a pop-up box in front of the picture.  It reads "Video Standard / Select a Country and TV Tuner Input Type".  But the country selection pulldown is blank!  If I cancel or close the pop-up box, the TV application closes. How do I get beyond the pop-up box without shutting down the TV?

Yaobing will have to answer this one.  My guess would be an unsupported TV card.  Which one is it?

Here are my registry entries.  You might be able to get it going by setting things up manually.

Try playing a channel now that you have scanned.  It should ask you for what it needs.

But the country selection pulldown is blank!

Did you click on the drop-down button and see the list is really empty? It may appear to be blank only because the default selection is not available. If the list is really, i.e. you clicked on the down arrow and found nothing in the list, then it is cause for further investigation.

As Jim asked, what TV card do you use? What type of driver have you installed (WDM or VfW)?
Which country do you live in and what TV standard is used there?

Try manually add a channel and see if you can play it.

Yes. The country listing is really empty, i.e. there is no list - it is completely blank.

My PC has a PCI TV/FM Tuner Card and the driver is a WDM.

Country is USA and standard is NTSC.

A TV channel will play, but the pop-up box is in the way and if I cancel or close the box, the TV application closes with it.

What is brand of your PCI TV/FM tuner card? We currently only support ATI and Hauppauge cards. Others cards using WDM driver may work. By your description, it seems that the driver of your card failed to tell our application which TV format it supports.

Try opening the following registry key with regedit program:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Music Exchange\1.0\Media Jukebox\TV Settings

and then adding these values:

"Country Name"="United States of America" (string type)
"Country Code"=1 (DWORD type)
"TV Tuner Input Type"=1 (DWORD type)
