Runtime Error when syncing iPod
« on: February 20, 2013, 08:37:34 am »

I can't seem to solve this problem by myself. I have been using JRiver for a few years and never had this problem before. I have tried initializing the ipod and erasing the iTunesDB file as I thought there might be some conflict there. That is about everything I can think of. There have been a few references to the same error ie.,

from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:
Runtime Error!
.../MediaCenter18.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

and I hope I am not re-posting the exact same question. I have searched but nothing I have tried will work... it just did it again actually. Can anyone help me with this? I can keep forcing the iPod to sync after the crashes but then the artwork seems to be completely messed up. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem and get the same error message. I can only sync 100 files before MC crashes with the runtime error. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling MS C++ and Media Center without any success. If I boot into safe mode then I can sync without any problems.

MC 17.0.189
Windows 8 Pro x64
Ipod Classic 160 (with a fresh initialization from within MC)
Conversion parameters: mp3, VBR Extreme

Good call. I created an exception in my antivirus and I've had no troubles since. Thank you.
