Data pictues can't be added using "Quick find in file"
« on: November 12, 2011, 08:54:37 am »

v16.0.181, but as far as I can tell, this has always been the case, so I don't know if it is a bug that's always been there or just the way it works and I never understood it.

My covers are stored in C:\MC\MCCovers, and they are also set to save in file.

I just saved an image called Data - Ham Rolls.jpg in that folder as this seems to be the way MC handles Data pictures but Quick Find in File will not work.  The file I imported is called Ham Rolls.txt, so it is a Data file, and the name is identical to the picture (but for the Data - prefix).  Shouldn't this work?

Also, and this is the part that's always been there, whenever I select ADD from File it asks if I want to copy the file in my default cover art directory, but it is already there.  I never know if I should say yes or no to that, as the source is already in my cover art directory.

for media type "data", "Quick find in file" does not work..

workaround, set media type (temporarly) to video and do the lookup, if that does not work also rename your data coverart from "Data - Ham Rolls.jpg" to "Video - Ham Rolls.jpg", then do the lookup,

change back to media type data..and if you want correct "media type coverart name" for your data files let mc write them again, you do that with the move coverart function..

simple and easy  ;)

..so why is the [image file] field so "secret and locked down" ?  :-X obvius we can not change it, for some reason..but what about a similair function as "rename & update location" for files..

Obviously I am not inclined to follow that method. It's great that there are workarounds, but sometimes you have to put your foot down ;)
