Installation Key/Registration Code Question
« on: March 18, 2003, 07:30:55 am »

Back in November 02', I purchased MJ8 and was sent an email containing an "installation key" which generated a "registration code" which licensed my copy of MJ.

Yesterday I installed a fresh install of MJ 8.0.394 onto a new hard drive.  I used the registration code from Nov. 02' to "Restore License" and it successfully registered.

This AM, I receive an email from "buy-button@jriver.com" sending me an "installation key" identically named as the one in Nov. which generated an identical registration code as in Nov.

What's this about?  Why was I sent another key/code after MJ was already successfully registered? Why 2 identical key/codes?  The email states the installation key is good for 2wks but I was able to register using my original key/code from Nov.

You must have used the Restore Page to re-license.  You're all set now.

If you want to know more, please try this link:

I think that is a very good ideia, if you loose the first *rrg file you have the mail to restore again in 2 weeks and in that way you don't have to spend another restore.

Please check the FAQ, and if that doesn't help, post the exact steps you are taking to restore, as well as your system info.

Thanks,

Hello,
I am having a problem restoring my license for MJB 8.0.388 on my XP pro computer.  For months, I have not had any problems.   The issue started when I removed the XP user account that MJB was installed in.  Apparently I lost the license with the old user account.
I have tried to restore the license by following the instructions on the web.  When I enter the code on the restoration page, MJB opens up but I get this error "Error installing Media Jukebox license: Invalid license."  How can I install MJB on my new user account?

Thanks,
Hal

It isn't a valid license.  Find the Registration Code, not the Install Key.  It should be in e-mail from buy-button @ jriver.com.  Or use the recover capability to have the server e-mail you the license.

It's all here:

I used the registration code to get a new license by email.
What should I do with the .mjr file?  I tried to restore the license by opening MJB and going to HELP, then Restore License by file pointing to the new .mjr file, but I get the same error "Invalid License."  Do I need need to reinstall every thing?
