Is there a way to move tracks to CDR in MJ?
« on: May 13, 2002, 12:07:25 pm »

Hello,

I'm wondering if there is a way to MOVE tracks to offline media such as CDRs. With 12,000 songs using up 60 Gigs, I need to make some room.

Thanks.

In version 8.0, you can burn a data CD.  There isn't any automated way to choose them, though.

JimH,
I hope you'll make this operation more easier in the next 9 build, I need to make some room...  Next Page

I think it will be be easier if we could have the way to see Media library & Queue burning list at the mean time, preventing us if the total list size is over CD capacity (could it be an italian term?), to make this operation many times...

Thanks

If you've got Adaptec Direct CD you can format a disc then use the move to option on the right click menu to burn them to disc. If you just want to use the disc on just the one pc then leave it open if you want it just as a normal data disc have Direct CD rearrange and close the disc. This has worked for me before.

Yes, it's a good idea!

Though, I uninstalled it to have the ability to use CDRW like CD, just formatting it before in explorer, loosing of course the possibility to erase some files without reformat completely the CDRW, but in this way I can use it in every hi-fi CD players. It gave to me also in the time a more stable media (CD).
Than, I as you know that adding multiple recording sessions reduce about 50MB per session the total capacity of CD; other than in XP only, the bundled System CD burning service can leave CDs open for multiple rec sessions.

Thanks
