Computer audiophile + rip help
« on: February 15, 2012, 08:59:53 am »

I am about to re-rip my audio collection. I would like to use media center to do this. Reading the computer audiophiles guide to ripping and library management,It is recommended to rip three different formats at once. Will media center do this? and How?

Also,I am confused, I do not understand metadata and how it is stored. In the past I have used ape. files and had no problems.

In the guide it states to use wav. files for every-day use and flac for archiving.Goes on to say, Eventually metadata will be corrupt using wav.files Also audiophile mag says Flac is not good.

I would like to keep this as simple as possible but no simpler.

What is 2 channel analog audiophile to do?

If APE has been working for you, keep using it.  Or use FLAC.  Both are good.  There's no need for more than one.

WAV is no better for sound quality, and worse for error checking:

The best quality doesn't have to be complicated.
