Library Completely Empty
« on: August 26, 2012, 01:52:55 pm »

Hello,

I apologize if this is a repeat issue.  I did a quick search and couldn't find anything recent.  Today I opened up media center (version 12) and my library was gone completely...none of my files or playlists were there.  All the actual files are still on my internal drive which is great but since I use MC for DJing I had a lot of information within MC that I fear is now gone.  Any way to recover this?  The only things I did today before launching MC was run a Windows optimizing program (which I've done before with no issues), and plugged in an old external hard drive that didn't work for whatever reason (maybe corrupt).

Any advice on whether I can get my library data back?

Thanks very much in advance,
Travis

I haven't used MC 12 for a long time.  IN MC 17, you could restore the MC database for the default library with the File / Library / Restore command.  MC 17 makes automatic library backups at intervals.

Thanks, Bill.  That function does exist in MC12 and it looks like it worked.

I should have looked for that first but I admit a bit of panic motivated me to post here instead.

I appreciate the help very much.
