Which CD is it? What is the error you get when you try to rip?
Try using "digital secure" mode.
Also, try encoding to uncompressed wave to see if it makes a difference.
Please post your system info here.

Thanks,

I was encoding it to uncompressed wave.Error message simply says"failed encoding"It is a 1994 Chris Rea "The best of..." which I was able to encode fine with previous beta versions of MJ 8.
My system:
Athlon 1800XP
256 MB DDR RAM
20/10/40 Yamaha CD-RW
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card
Windows 2000 Professional
Internet Explorer 6.

That's strange that you're getting an encoding error when it shouldn't be doing any encoding. Are you sure "failed encoding" is the exact and complete error message? The only place I see that message is in the Converter tool.
This could be related to a file naming problem that was fixed in build 8.0.265. Try going to Settings/Options/File naming & location and change the file naming rule from:
ARTIST - ALBUM - TRACK# - NAME
to:
TRACK# - NAME

My fault!
Message says "failed creating wave file"
I reinstalled MJ 7.2 and it ripped that CD without any problems.
I have not run into any other CD with this problem(yet).

It really sounds like the bug that was fixed in build 8.0.266. If you have the time, could you try that build to see if it fixes the problem?

Thanks,

Try the next build (something greater than 8.0.269), I think we've got this fixed.
