« on: May 03, 2002, 02:56:53 pm »

Can Media Server be set up to run under Win2000 as a service.

It seems that the server PC has to be logged in before this Server will start.

Can it be started as a service - Dont want the kids messing.

Not as far as I know.  I have seen a reference to a program that can allow Windows to run any program as a service.  You might try a search at google.

There's a free software for that: http://www.firedaemon.com/

FireDaemon is a utility that allows you to install and run virtually any application as a Windows NT/2K/XP service. FireDaemon features easy configuration, a low memory/CPU overhead, subprocess prioritisation and CPU binding and scheduling plus monitoring and logging to the NT/2K/XP event log.
