Payback speed? 2x
« on: May 02, 2002, 07:23:38 pm »

simple question/request:

Can Media Jukebox [v8.0.239] decelerate or accelerate the speed at which you MP3 files are played?
You would be surprised to the fact of how often this feature is used, when you want to play a song in a much faster/slower tempo (say for a very fast hip-hop dance practice...)

If this feature is yet to be implemented then a sliding bar for speed deceleration/acceleration would be very useful.

Thank you all.

ohh and on another note my MJ v8.0.239 sometimes fails to update (move) the song play arrow in the bottom left corner it stays frozen, (I must move my mouse through it for it to update it self)

well I guess it is yet to be implemented and an advanced button in bottom left that would pop up an advanced control would be nice!

controlling speed with a sliding bar would be great...

I understand your need since I used to slow down tapes in order to try to learn to play music on a concertina.  This would probably be straight forward for us to do and we will consider it for the next version.  Check back in 2 or 3 months when we begin working on it.

Hey InGearX - are you a dancer too?
Your mention of hip-hop dance practise just sounds like something I've had to do many a time.
For those songs u want to practise with for your routines there's a plugin called: Pacemaker v1.1 for winamp that gives you this functionality.
Until it is added to MediaJukebox you can use it as a temporary solution. It gives you control over the tempo, speed and pitch of the songs.
It's great for speeding up songs for routines.

If somebody wants, they could write an MJ 8 DSP plugin to do this pretty quick.  Check out the Developer's Zone if you're interested.

Thanks.
