V14 uninstall messed up V8
« on: July 01, 2012, 04:08:06 pm »

I recently installed MJ 14.  It did not have what I wanted (Media Editor - at least I couldn't find it).  So, I uninstalled 14 and, now, MJ 8.0 will not run.  I get a message, when trying to start V8, that "Media Jukebox was nto installed correctly for the current user.  Please reinstall Media Jukebox."  Uh, OK - how do I go about re-installing it?  Any install executable I had for version 8 is long gone.  And, WHY did this occur in the first place??  It should NOT have.

You can find old versions on our wiki under the topic called "Old Versions".

Thanks.  If I do re-install v8, how can I go about saving my existing playlists?  I assume a re-install would blow them away.  I assume these are files with a particular extension (.mpl?) but I can't find them in the version 8 folder.

They should be in your user folder not sure what version of Windows you are using but on Windows 7 the location is
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center *\Library\Playlists\
