MJ Gods:
XP has a feature by which it hides 'inactive' system tray icons with an arrow so you can expand and see the ones that aren't 'active'. I love this feature but unfortunately the MJ tray icon seems to want to be classified as inactive after XP has decided to inactivate some icons and put up the arrow. You minimize to tray and your icon is gone until you expand and find it.

Is there an API call you can bend to get it to assert itself out of hiding, the way things like e-mail notification do? Clearly there's some hierarchy going on there that XP recognizes.

Try this right click on the task bar and select properties.  Then select the customize button next to hide inactive icons.  Find MJ's icon in the list and change it to "always show".  I think that would do what you are hoping for.

Nope. This is only a temporary workaround. Note that the configuration uses the tooltip to identify the app to which the setting applies. Since MJ changes the tooltip with each track, the setting is only temporary.
