Mono WAV files :-(
« on: April 25, 2002, 11:36:29 am »

Looks like Media Jukebox still doesn't suport mono WAV files. How do I know? Every time I install a new beta, the WAV files get reassigned to MJ and any incoming voice mail messages on my PC (mono WAV files) don't play and I have to manually reassign them to e.g. IrfanView, that has no trouble with mono WAV files.
PLEASE>>> either support or leave my assignation of WAV files to something else alone

See MJ settings/options/file associations to dis-associate wav file type.

Matt or the right person -

What technically makes mono wav files not play in MJ?

Hi there,

It's not that the files are mono -- MJ doesn't mind mono files at all.

However, the files are probably compressed with some ACM codec, and MJ doesn't currently support these compressed .wav files.  Can you change how your voice mail messages get saved?

And we may support ACM codecs in the future if there's enough demand...

Take care.

I have no choice about how to save the WAV files (see www.xoip.nl). I have asked and they were planning to change to MP3 files (much smaller), but at present I am stuck with WAV, which just about anything else can read. Every time I update MMJ, I have to disassopciate WAV files, because otherwise I get to see a very irritating error message that I have to insert my media
