100% cpu utilization while streaming video to android over wifi
« on: September 25, 2012, 01:06:39 pm »

Hi,

My HTPC is an D510 dual core atom processor.  The moment I try and stream a video to my android device via Gizmo the cpu utiliation peaks at 100% and remains there.  I turned of the recode option in hopes that it would send the video as is but cpu remains at 100%.  I am on the latest beta of v18.

Is this normal?  I am prepared to upgrade my system to a Core i5 ivy bridge which I know will have more horse power.  I would just like to know why the cpu is at 100% even though it is not encoding the video.... ?

Thanks in advance.

So, for Gizmo, the server always converts then right?

This must mean that if I get 100% cpu utiliztion during gizmo video streaming and playback is choppy, I need to upgrade my system mb and cpu.  This is what I wanted to know.
