To JRiver crew, 48kHz recording problem
« on: April 08, 2002, 10:46:51 pm »

I would like to record audio from my audiocard from OPTICAL IN.
There is one major problem (Optical is at 48kHz-16bits) and I think that Media Jukebox support only 44.1kHz/16bits, so recorded material played is slow.
Is there any solution for 48kHz recording?

I noticed that Media Jukebox doesn't just resample input 48kHz to output wav file 44.1kHz, but instead of that Jukebox take recording from line IN (optical) at 48kHz and record this wav like it is 44.1kHz (so there is not quality loss matter, but song in wav format is slower than original - speed error).

Reason for that is I supose that Media Jukebox record wav of 48kHz and doesn't do resampling to 44.1kHz (optical input) and then just assign to that 48kHz wav file (in header I supose) that this file is 44.1kHz.

So that is like you have 48kHz file played in speed like it is 44.1kHz. So slowed down.

Is there any solution for that?
Thanks.
