18.0.136 Bit Depth
« on: February 21, 2013, 11:48:58 am »

When the Bit Depth is set to Source JR still will not accept a file with 32 bit depth.  You have to set the Bit Depth to 32 in order for it to read the file.  I play files with both 32 and 24.  I am constantly changing the settings from 24 to 32 to 24 etc...

You should always pick the single highest bitdepth your hardware supports, and leave the setting there.

Just out of curiosity, where are you finding a file with 32-bit depth ?   I thought that was still only on the drawing board...

I have an M2TECH Joplin A/D converter that allows me to make up to 386kHz/32-bit recordings.  JR allows me to play them back through an M2TECH Young DAC.  For some reason perhaps psychological, they seem to sound better under ver 18.0.136.

I am not sure I want to play 24-bit files at a 32 bit depth.  I would perfer to play them as is.
