I just purchased Media Jukebox and ran into trouble - I imported my music directory (1200  mp3's), but when I restarted the program, more than half of the songs were gone from the library. I tried reimporting, reinstalling, etc. to no avail - each time I restarted, the songs were removed from the library.

So then I took a look at the mediafiles.jmd file to see if I could find a problem, and I stumbled across some files with enormous comment fields. I used another program to remove the comment field in the offending files, then re-imported the files into MJ and all is well.

For what it's worth, the offending songs were from a CD that I ripped using tags from the freedb database:

normaly this problem i think was found to be a problem with the data base.

deleteing the data base and rebuilding seemed to fix it.

Yes, I fixed the problem, I'm just worried that if I import another file with a large comment field that I'll corrupt my database again.

well if it does it in MJ8 i would be suprised, since i had one that was 3000|PLS| bytes large
