Is there a way to completely Exit MC back to Windows desktop while watching a movie?

Basically, I am using MC as an external played for video and using a remapped MCE remote have not found a clean way to exit.

Here are scenarios while watching a movie:

I push Stop and it exits out of movie. (I would also like it to Exit to desktop)
If I push a button I have remapped to Shutdown (Backspace), it will Close MC but, if you are not careful, it will also Shutdown your computer!

Is there just a way to Exit MC back to Windows desktop? (close MC)

Run:

mc18.exe /Close

If this doesn't do what you'd like, you can use MCC_EXIT (20007) which gives you more options.  For example:

mc18.exe /MCC 20007, 1

Will force MC to close, including Media Server.  While:

mc18.exe /MCC 20007, 2

Will force MC to close, while allowing Media Server to continue running in the tray.
