Create CD w/ Crossfade
« on: March 25, 2002, 08:17:28 pm »

I'm just wondering if it's possible with MJ to create an Audio CD with the crossfade functionality. I've done this before with other programs (Nero) and it seems like a pretty cool feature to have.

Hi Franco,

No, you can't do that with MJ at the moment but, who knows, MJ might offer this in the future.

Talking about audio CD with crossfade: I've burnt some with Nero and that's surely cool provided
that you never press the random play button of your CD player Next Page

hav a nice day.

With MJ 8.0 you can!  Just build a Playing Now playlist of files you want to burn, set Playback output setting to Disk Writer, click Play and let MJ create crossfaded .WAV output files (turn Continous off first), import the .WAV output files and burn those to CD.  It actually works, but is somewhat alot of work to accomplish (but doable).

Zrocker - How do you split the wav file into tracks or am I missing something?

Gatobrit,

MJ 8.0 splits them for you (crossfaded).  If you started with 10 tracks in you playlist, you will have 10 crossfaded output .WAV files.

Zrocker - OK. If I want to burn the CD gapless then I need to choose the generic driver right? Any idea why that option is grayed out?

If you are 'forced' to use the Generic driver, then you're screwed...because it always add the two second gap to audio CDs (eg. Track-at-Once mode).  If you are forced to use the Generic driver, then your CD-RW is not recognized by the other driver (Goldenhawk).
