How to manage recording options
« on: July 04, 2013, 08:21:24 am »

I am trying MC 18 for the first time and need some help managing my test recordings.

I can see that a tuner is recording something that I don't need.
How can I stop the recording?

I see the program in the recording list and the status is "currently recording"
I don't see any option in that list for stopping the recording.
I tried viewing the recording and when I right clicked on the screen there was an option to stop the current recording.
Unfortunately that does not stop the recording.

Three ways to stop recording (in Standard View):

1. Click "Recording Rules" in the program filter box, to get a list of scheduled recordings.  Find one that you want to stop, and click "Configure recording", and choose "Cancel Recording".

2. Click "All Programs" in the program filter box.  The program that is being recorded should have a blue status icon.  If you have many channels, you can select the specific channel that is being recorded, then the program being recorded should be on top of the list.  Select the program and click "Cancel recording" button.

3. View the recording, and right-click in the video window, and choose Recording > Cancel Recording.  This was what you did, I do not know why it did not work.  Are you sure? :)

Thanks for the quick response.

I am sure that 3) did not work, I tried it several times.
I ended up terminating the MC 18 process to stop the recording  ;D
