I normally record everything using WMC and then play back via JRiver to achieve the best quality video and sound.  A new series called the 'The White Queen' includes an audio description commentary that is not played back by default on WMC but is always present when played by JRiver.  Would it be possible to have a facility to disable it?

BTW I do not record using JRiver as I have lost so many recordings in the past that I am reluctant to try it and perhaps lose an episode.

OK Let's try again.

Here is a link https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89351033/The%20White%20Queen_BBC%20One%20HD_1.wtv to a small sample of video that includes commentary that I do not wish to hear.  Please ignore the 'so far review' at the beginning, the commentary starts as the actors are listed and continues from that point.

When played in WMC the commentary is not present, unfortunately there does not appear to be any way of turning off in MC.

I believe the same issue exists if MC is used to record.

I tried playing your file and I get no sound at all. In either RO-STD or RO-HQ.

The Audio path says:
"Input: 48KHz 32bit 2 ch
Output: 48KHz 24 bit (padded) 2 Ch using WASAPI
(not using enough bits to output the input directly)"

So I hear no commentary or any sound at all. Sorry I couldn't help.

Thanks for trying, not sure why you are unable to hear sound!  I just downloaded it to a desktop computer and it played just fine. Here is a graph that I captured:

Is it possible that you do not have WMC installed?
Perhaps the filters required are not available on systems that do not have WMC.
You should at the very least be able to play the sample with sound via a WMC installation.

Sorry, I'm not sure.

I get a white screen and normal seeming audio with your sample.

WTV is sort of a special format, so I'm not sure how to deal with stream selection.  Does WMC allow picking what stream to listen to?

I did a check this morning but was unable to find any stream selection function for digitally recorded TV within WMC.  As mentioned earlier, I recall the same problem is present if I record using MC!

I will try and make a recording of this weeks episode on MC to see if it can provide additional information.

I'm guessing that you are unable to see the video because the system you are using does not have WMC installed resulting in a missing codec. The sample plays perfectly for me on two computers that both have WMC installed.  WMC plays without the commentary and MC includes it  :(

I guess in in theory it should simply be a matter of MC recording the correct audio stream.
