What level of sound quality do JRiver on Mac offer?
« on: August 09, 2013, 12:57:04 am »

Hi there!

I left JRiver Windows some days ago. Tested Amarra og Audirvana. Did not think that JRiver would be the best choice on my new Mac Mini. But after learning how these other products work and what they offer - I believe I will convert my JRiver trial to a purchased one very soon.

I have done some sound quality testing. Have no basis for saying that the JRiver sound does not match Amarra and Audirvana.

What is the sound quality from JRiver compared to it's competitors?

For what it's worth, my take is that JRiver will get the bits out to the sound card/DAC exactly as they were in the encoded file.  i.e. bit perfect.  And that is all that I want of my source.  Take whatever you were given and return it to me.

I love the output from JRiver on my Mac.
